ALERT!    Pony Missing...Needs Medications!

Mekos is a dark charcoal dappled Shetland pony, with white mane and tail, 10 hh. Dapples are not noticeable in winter as he has a very full winter coat. Last person known to have Mekos has been known to spell his name as "Meekos".

Mekos is a foundered pony with Cushing syndrome and needs his medications. He is 16 years old and sweet mannered, great with kids, and loves apples. Mekos was last known in Sheboygan, Manitowoc, or Washington Counties.

HISTORY: Mekos was adopted out with a legal binding adoption contract drawn up by an attorney. The adoption party was not to release ownership for any reason but if could not keep Mekos, must turn the pony back to original owner. If Mekos became very ill or died, the original owner was to be notified. Upon inspection, Mekos was gone. At first the original owner was told that Mekos was dead. When law enforcement was called, the adopter was told that Mekos was turned in to a rescue facility. I personally called that facility and Mekos had never been to that facility.

PLEASE - If anyone knows where Mekos is, call Cindy at H.O.R.S.E. Organization Inc. @ 608-322-4068.  Also, if you have any other information, please send it to RESCUEHORSES7@aol.com.  Thank you.

Thank you.

H.O.R.S.E. is a non profit horse rescue organization that currently has over 40 horses who have been abandoned or abused, as well as saved from slaughter houses.

Life is short, and we believe that all animals need a good life, and a good home. We are here to help them get that because they also have a heart, and feelings, just like we do.

They need our help, and we need your help, if we hope
to make this organization grow.

For every day that a donation is made, or that you can
freely give of your time and energy, makes a day, a
better day, for the horses and animals under our care!

We are here for them, and we hope that you are too. By helping us, you'll give the animals under our care, a second chance to live a long and happy life!

We believe it is our personal obligation and mission to help as many horses in need as we are physically, emotionally, and financially capable to help. We are looking to raise money to expand our stables to continue saving abandoned and abused horses, as well as feed them.

Finding enough hay is our biggest challenge. Money is so short. We go through over 150 small bales of hay per week. We have just a few, and bless them all, people and organizations that help with donations.

The next challenge that is right next to the hay is feed supply - we need senior feed, calf manna, 12% pelleted feed, oats.

All of this costs money that we just do not have. We put all of our own personal money into this venture. We survive on donations.

Everyday provides us with new challenges; broken fences, manure forks, light bulbs, feed dishes, water pails, outgrown halters, worn out halters, saddle pads, wheel barrows, etc.

Another big challenge is manual labor. We desperately need volunteers to groom horses, exercise horses, and yes, muck stalls.

At this point we also have no machinery - nothing to move the big bales of hay around. We have to borrow, or rent, a skid steer, just to move hay bales out to the pasture. Or when we buy the hay, or someone donates some hay, we have to borrow the equipment to get the hay off the trailer (that we rent) to get the hay into the barn or pile outside and tarp.

Donations of money, hay, grain, machinery, and volunteers would be greatly appreciated.
